Scholarship Program

Thousand Oaks Woman's Club

The Scholarship Committee was formed to select women who are seniors from our five high schools, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake, Conejo Valley, and Century Academy who will be attending local Community Colleges for their continued education.

Forms for selection are distributed each Fall at the College and Career Center of each campus. A screening committee reviews and selects eligible students from each high school, their award is presented during end-of-the-year festivities.

Monies for these awards are collected voluntarily throughout the year from our members and friends of the Thousand Oaks Woman's Club. The proceeds are held in a separate account until awarded.

Thousand Oaks Woman's Club scholarship applications are in schools now or you can apply online.

Six young people stand in a row holding papers in their hands, dressed in casual semi-formal attire. They are at a banquet, and there are tables with place settings and an American flag visible in the background.

Instructions to Students:

In an attempt to help you be more successful when completing your application, please consider the following suggestions:

  1. On page one and two please know that this information is completely confidential and family names, etc. will be redacted from those reading your application.
  2. Please be sure to complete every question. Questions left blank leave us no information. If you absolutely cannot add any information please add N/A so we know you at least acknowledge there is nothing to share rather than us assuming you simply overlooked it.
    • Please be aware that the presentation of your application is a big consideration of our overall opinion of your attention to detail. Such things as neatness and spelling provide an overall impression. If you choose to do the application off-line, typing the application is also very helpful but not completely necessary if the presentation is thoughtful, free from cross outs, and not composed without a rough draft.
    • Not providing an essay or transcript seriously jeopardizes your overall consideration.
    • Upon reading your application, each page is awarded a score of zero to five points per reader. As mentioned before, not providing an essay or transcript seriously puts your score at risk. The highest score per school is selected as our recipient.
  3. We sincerely wish you good luck and encourage you to have family or friends proofread your application to help ensure success. We hope to meet you and award you a scholarship.
